Distinctives of the CBTNZ Leadership Resources

The CBTNZ  Leadership Series presents a range of key issues faced by church
leaders. The Leadership Series can be used as:

A comprehensive leadership development program for existing and
emerging leaders.
A modular system of leadership training. Training modules (three or
four studies) are available through the CBTNZ Leadership CD.
A mentoring resource for life-on-life application of the various
issues.

Distinctives:
Outcome-Driven
The series is constructed on the assumption that we don't really know a
biblical truth until we do it. Each issue is designed to be
transformational-for you as a leader, for your team and for your whole
church. You will be learning then taking action on what God is teaching you.

Whole-Life
Each course and issue in the Leadership Series encourages church leaders to
engage their "head, heart and hands" in the learning process. Their "head"
is instructed through biblical reflection that results in a commitment to
God's truth. Through learning in community and mentoring their "heart" is
engaged and godly character is formed. Life transformation takes place as
the Spirit empowers leaders to do ("hands") what God is teaching them.

Wisdom-Based
The Leadership Series is designed to facilitate learning in community, where
each leader processes the material and participates in a life-changing
discussion.
You will learn and grow as you participate in the CBT Six-Step Wisdom
Process. The object of this process is to encourage church leaders to think
biblically and wisely about essential aspects of church leadership. The
steps are:

1.        Grasp the Issue-What are the main questions to be addressed?
2.        Study the Scriptures-What does the Bible say?
3.        Consult Other Sources-What can we learn from other authors?
4.        Form a Response-What are your initial conclusions?
5.        Discuss the Issue-What can we learn from each other?
6.        Take Action to Obey-What are some learning outcomes from this issue?
